I first became involved in credit management in 1982 in the corporate world, firstly managing a debtors ledger and going out and actually doing repossessions etc. Soon after this I joined a newly created national collections entity called Creditcorp as Regional Manager, after several years I established my own collections agency in Hamilton called Northern Credit Consultants, which specialised in debt prevention as well as collections.
In 2000 I sold this business to Receivables Management Ltd and created my own training company Laurie Brenssell & Associates. In 2005 I decided to return to Receivables Management as their National Sales Manager and remained there until 2012 when I joined EC Credit Control NZ Ltd.
So now I have returned to what I love most, Training and Consulting with clients to help them prevent or reduce their exposure to overdue debtors.
Early in my time in the credit industry I joined the New Zealand Credit & Finance Institute and was eventually awarded a “Fellowship” as recognition of my contribution to the credit Management industry.
I love presenting credit workshops for both Corporates and SME companies, I am good at it and my clients who have been with me for many years like it too and they believe I make a difference to their business efficiencies.
